Northern Lights! Aurora Borealis! @Yellowknife

how lucky are we to see Northern Lights in our 1week-homestay in Yellowknife!

it's our 4th day of stay here and we finally get to see it! :) [the past few nights were cloudy]

even Ginny Parents said its not so common to see them now in Yellowknife. Although they use to see it every night when the sky is clear. Sometimes when it happen and will be gone within minutes you notice it.
but we sure watched for more than 15mins of tax free, admission free, best performance from the sky before we went to bed.

kenny took a few pic with his camera and here i share with you.

little facts:
Aurora Borealis (northernlights); are a phenomenon happening far above the Earth. The lights are born out of the solar winds flowing across the upper atmosphere and hitting gas molecules, which light up like a neon sign.

when it happen in the North, it also happen at the South at the same time, like mirror effect.
they moves, splits up, combines, changes every seconds, like they are dancing in the sky. and the Colours changes too. though i saw mostly green, but there's a faint red colour at the base of it.
it's like a wavvy, "foggy" kind of river, right above your head!
it's really beautiful.
an masterpiece by Mother Nature. :)
