幸福快熟面 Fortunate Me!

我的幸福快熟面本尊样貌。

幸福快熟面：

快熟面 - 2块（烫熟后沥干备用）
青/红/黄灯笼椒 - 各1/4，切丝
鸡肉 - 50克，切丝
金不换叶 - 1把
蒜末 - 1汤匙
橄榄油 - 2汤匙
海盐 - 少许 （可以用蚝油或鸡精粉代替）

把橄榄油加热后就爆香蒜末。
加入鸡肉丝，炒散它。
加入灯笼椒丝和金不换叶翻炒。
加入面和海盐，炒均匀后即可。

*蒜末记得不要炒焦，不然会有苦味。

Blissful Noodle:

instant noodle - 2pcs ( cook till soft, drain well)
capsicum (green/yellow/red) - 1/4 each, slice thinly
chicken meat - 50gm, cut into thin strips
Basil leaves - a handful
chopped garlic - 1 tbsp
olive oil - 2 tbsp
sea salt - a pinch ( for subsitute, use oyster sauce or chicken powder )

heat up the olive oil and fry the garlic.
add in chicken strips, fry it for 5 seconds.
add in capsicum strips and basil leaves, mix well.
add in noodle and sea salt, mix well and serve it hot.

*do not over brown the garlic, as it will give a bitter taste.

Mango....芒果

this evening after work, me and my colleague are just about to walk out of the guard house, it started to rain; with strong wind and dark scary sky.

"pop!" my colleague heard something drop onto the floor.

"GOT MANGO!" she screamed to me. "let's go pick it up leh!"

before i was about to turn back, lightning strike through the dark sky! thunder clap so loud as if its just above us!

we both got scared and quickly ran up to the company bus for shelter.
while we were both running, we saw 2 contractors went to pick up the mango. a big mango. wonder how juicy it is...... hmmmm...

my colleague then said "aiyo lucky hor, we didnt go pick up the mango. its not meant for us, the God give the 2 contractors eat one."

(lucky i didn't pick the mango, if not i cant be writing here liao....)


离开公司的时候，突然下起雨来。

就在我和我的同事走出警卫室的当儿，
她听见有东西掉在地上，回头一看就对着我叫 “啊！地上有粒很大粒的芒果！快点去拾！”

就在我们转身的那一刹那,
天空对着我们俩拍照：闪了一下！
然后“bing biang!”
轰隆声之大仿佛就在我们头顶上放屁一样吓人！
我们两个胆小怕死的人立刻转身就跑进厂车躲起雨来！

我们看到身后有两个客工顺手把那粒大大粒芒果捡起来走掉了。

我用羡慕的眼光看着他们两个冒着雨走远了。那芒果那么大粒。。一定很香很甜。

我那同事这时说了 “哎哟！那芒果不是我们的！好彩我们没有拾那芒果，不然会天打雷劈的！”

（幸好我没有拾那芒果，不然今晚怎么写我的部落格啊？）

异象 = Strange Sight = Vision???

"Our Vision" is translated to "strange sight" in mandarin.

今天放工回家突然心血来潮想要从纳福坊走回家。
不小心看到这幅挂在青红灯旁的宣传布条。把单纯的我看得我都脸红了。。。真难为情。

你。。。也看到了吧？

哎呀！不是叫你看“3P”啦！！讨厌!
你好色哦！哈哈。。。

异象！
原来Our Vision是异象。。。。。

不知道是不是这青年团体想要告诉我们 - 他们将会看到的“异象”？
还是他们团体的未来展望呢？

i was on my way home, walking along yishun ave 5, just beside the traffic junction beside the shell petrol station - i saw this banner.

what caught my attention is the mandarin translation they used in this term "Our Vision".

the term "vision" found in mandarin translated bible, uses "strange sight" (in mandarin).

though it is not wrong but when using it here seem slightly weird.

because "vision" can also be seen as positive outlook, objectives etc etc.

i am not very good in english nor mandarin. but i know something is wrong in the mandarin term they used here for the term "Our Vision". i think they are trying to tell us what their vision is about, guess nothing to do with strange sight.

ps: i got nothing against anyone or religions. just purely to bring out a slight variation in translation can bring out a big difference of meaning. :)

Baked Fruit Dessert 烤鲜果甜品

刚从马来西亚回来啦。。。。 :p

ok here is the vanilla sugar recipe from jamie oliver's DVD - the naked chef series 1. (S$10++)
i bought the DVD at cathay building ( or mall?) basement bookshop. the bookshop very class lor. like kinokuniya pattern like dat. hahahaha...

vanilla sugar

sugar 1kg
vanilla pods 5-6 strips

1) cut up the pods, place in blender and blend for few seconds.
2) add in sugar and continue to blend it well; till u hardly see the pods.
3) sieve it, if required, repeat the blending process with the remainings that cannot pass through.
4) store in dry container.

this sugar makes a great real vanilla DIY sweet taste for your drinks and desserts!

alright, for baked fruit dessert, its a variation after watching his videos teaching. made a change to it because most of the fruits he used are quite expensive sold here. you can jolly well use strawberries, fresh figs n peaches if you want. else, you can try my version...

baked fruits dessert:

ripe yellow banana - cut a slit length wise in the center, flip open gently, place on baking trays with skin facing down.

pineapple - remove skin, cut into 1.5-2cm thick rings, place on baking tray.

strawberries - cut away the top, slit a cross cut halfway down from the tip of the berries.

1) sprinkle a generous amount of vanilla sugar over the fruits, add a shower of brandy ( or any sweet wine )
2) put the whole tray into the pre-heated over and bake for another 15-20mins at 200 degree C. watch over it closely as you wont want to get the fruits all burnt! :p

this dessert goes well wit grilled meat, or a serving of vanilla ice cream! any left over can mixed with low fat yogurt or waffles!

sometimes you really cant help but to feel bad luck is always doubling up for you.

my MD went down today, just as i was about to do recording for my program.
i was at my friend place, whipping up thai dessert, thinking it will be a funny one if i got it all recorded. sigh.... too bad. you all cant hear what happen just now in the kitchen. so damn funny!

tomorrow i am going to collect my mobilephone. maybe i can also go see see if there are any MD available.

am going to burst my budget this month again :p

Dessert time! 小甜品时间

今天的甜品没有照片看。怎么办？
忍一忍吧。。。。。
today dessert don't have photos to see wor. How?
bear with it lar.....

黑糯米粥 Pulut Hitam (black glutinous rice dessert)
- 虽然很花时间来熬煮，可是它也是一道很滋润的甜品哦。

黑糯米 - 500克 （洗净）
斑兰叶 - 1把（洗净，扎起来，等最后才下）
砂糖 - 适量
清水 - 适量 （先用1.5公升的水来煮，然后视所需而加）
新鲜浓椰浆 - 适量 （在椰浆里头加入少许盐）

将黑糯米和水一起熬煮到成粥型即可。(先用大火煮滚后，再转小火继续熬煮）
记得要搅拌不然很容易就焦底的。
要熄火前加入班兰叶和砂糖调味，再煮多5-10分钟即可。
吃时，个别加入适量的浓椰浆即可。

black glutinous rice - 500gm (rinsed well)
pandan leaves - 1 handful (rinse well, tie a knot )
sugar - to taste
waster - add accordingly (start off with 1.5L, gradually add in more as required during cooking)
fresh thick coconut milk - as desire (add in a little salt)

cook the black glutinous rice and water to make porriage (boil it with high flame, then turn small flame to continue to simmer till done)
do not forget to stir occasionally, to prevent sticking to the pot.
just before it's done, add in pandan leaves and sugar, cook for another 5-10minutes.
serve wit coconut milk.

Pumpkin Patty

pumpkin - remove skin and seed, steam to soft, press to a smooth paste.

put paste in chiller for an hour,
take it out and form patty,
dust bread crumbs evenly,
deep fried till crispy golden.
drained well and serve.

南瓜 - 把皮和籽去掉，蒸熟后压成泥，搁在冰箱1小时，
取出适量来做成饼状，
裹上面包糠，
用热油炸到金黄香脆即可。

Yogurt Dressing:

1) Low Fat Yogurt ( with fruits ) : blend well to smooth paste.
2) Add wheat bran; stir well. ( for some crunchiness )

can serve as a salad/fruit dip or drizzle over the cut fruits just before serving.
you can substitude the wheat bran with unsalted chopped roasted peanuts/cashew nuts/pine nuts.

Wasabi Mayo Dressing:

1) Wasabi, Yellow Lemon Juice & Mayo.
2) mix all 3 ingredients according to your taste for the spicyness and a hint of lemon fragrance.

great for dip with fried prawns and fish nuggets!

Clear Dressing: ( recipe from Ms Patsy )

1) Olive Oil, Honey, Apple Cider, Yellow Mustard 1 tbsp each
2) Salad herbs spices a pinch

mix well and use as a salad dressing.


Girlish Drink - Strawberry Fizz

1) chopped strawberry, 7-up, ice cubes, mint leaves.

add ice cubes in a glass,
pour in 7-up ( original or raspberry also can la），
add a spoonful of chopped strawberry bits and decorate with a sprig of mint leaves.

Boyish Drink - Green Lemon Fizz

2) chopped green lemon (with the peel ), 7-up, ice cubes.

add ice cubes in a glass,
pour in 7-up ( original will be better lor ),
add in a spoonful of chopped green lemon bits.

** this boyish drink, you can change to another pattern, using only the green lemon peel strips instead.

= cut the peel into long curly strips.
=chilled the 7-up beforehand.
=minus the ice cubes if you want a better presentation of the drink, to show off the curly lemon strips in the drink.
