it's getting warmer....snow is melting....

it's -3 degree C this morning, kind of warm today, and most of the road starts to get really wet, slushy and dirty now. :S

but still, we have to go to the annual Caribou Carnival, a 3days fun-filled activities in Yellowknife.
with aboriginals (natives) item, hot food and drinks tentage, little games tentages for the young ones, a small performing stage where i saw 3 guys doing the country rock thing!

oh! the dog race is going on at another venue too! it's a event where it gets everyone in the city involve.

it held on Frame Lake this year. No worry, it's frozen and strong enough to hold the whole community there! :p

just a reminder. you need to get a button (CA $3, pin up) on you else you will be lock up in a real cell!!! :p

hey i am serious hor~~~ dont ever think of gate crashing or thought nobody will notice you had walk in for free. there are marshals patrolling the area.

There are several tentages aound the lake, but this big white tent? it's the performing ground for the Aboriginal, or natives of northern Canada, or you can also know them as the first community to live here first.

this is a very native form of activity, whereby they will get in two rows, facing each other, with the help of the strong rythem of vocal and drumming. the heat is on!
With hand gestures, facial expression, no verbal interaction; they take turn to guess who has the coin in their hand in the opposite team. they uses wooden sticks as betting token. and the team with the most sticks, wins.
it's kind of fun to watch there.
my horrible photogrphy skills cannot express the strong music beat and vocal echoing inside the tentage. but, it's really an wonderful experience to see.

this white tentage is the most packed among the rest, and i also discovered one thing; there's a hot air machine outside the tentage, blowing hot air into the tentage, to ventilate the tentage.

oh yeah! it's always a wonderful thing to have a cup of hot drinks in the middle of freezing condition. this latte (small) cost me CA $3.35 plus tax.
yes, i know i wear like i am inSingapore.... hello!? i AM a tourist here leh~~~~ :p

tonight's dinner were some miscommunication.
We were sort of coming back late to make dinner, Ginny's parents thought we will be making dinner again. so....
Ginny's mom makes a pasta quickie! with ready-frozen meat sauce and she just need to cook the pasta and defrost/heat up the gralic bread.
and me? i quickly marinate the chicken wings and deep fry them to a nicely done texture to go with the meat sauce pasta.
yeah....you can say it's the west-meet-east dinner again! :p
ha ha ha ha .....
